Christmas decoration with Joonas

Been a bit cold (photos showing our back yard). Notice the SUN on the top of the trees! Whooee for that!

Then when it got milder, last saturday, there was a bit crowdy on the bird's feeding place. I counted there were 7 species.

My art? I tried out a bit of ice carving during the intensive course that was organized by our department to the Nordic students of EDDA Norden -network (www.eddanorden.org). I'm a present coordinator of the network and could not participate in the course, but had a role as the boring organizer who dealt with budget, mainly. Still I had a chance to peak into the processes of others.

The ice and snow works were done in a snow hotel Lainio (I slept one night there, or tired to sleep as the speeling bag was too big and I sank in it)

See these dressing ups. The joy of being decorated.

There is also a picture of a HUGE (in our country's standars) worm. It eats live trees (tree destroyer) and after a winter (it stays as a WORM during the winter, underground) it creates the cocoon around it and then becomes a very ugly butterfly. The boys loved it. The one who did not have the worm on his hand was feeling upset and jealous, and when the turns changed, the other one was whining about his bad status.

we have found a great blueberry place just near by our house and the mosses are full of "grandberries" (?)

Notice the "lipstick" tone and teh colour of the thumb.
